Founder & Principal | MassGrass Media
Marketing and Advertising | Greater Philadelphia Area, US
As founder and principal of MassGrass, Scott produces strategic words and images that move. Through it, Scott delivers brand strategy, marketing strategy, copywriting services and video content production that drive fiscally responsible, impactful results.
Scott’s 20-year career journey includes tenures at three award-winning marketing communications firms in Minneapolis, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Philadelphia, and key stints in corporate and non-profit senior management settings. Scott has also served in various capacities for the likes of ABC Sports, CNN and TBS Sports. It reflects an incredibly rich trail of great people, interesting projects and soul-satisfying causes and companies that are making a genuine difference in the way people live, learn, work and play.
Along the way, Scott has written a book with globally respected information security veteran Tom Patterson, partner emeritus at Deloitte and currently serving at CyberMag. Titled Mapping Security, it provides American companies with the cultural and emotional intelligence required to securely establish a business in another country.
Scott also speaks, lectures and teaches. He has been a featured speaker on branding at the People’s Republic of China’s Ministry of Construction conference. Additionally, Scott has served in adjunct faculty roles at schools in the cities where he resided – most recently at Drexel University in Philadelphia. He has guest lectured at USC and UCLA.
For Scott, the integration of his work life into his creative soul began when he spent summers paging through back issues of Look and Life magazines. He advanced his interest in the “medium as the message” when he received his bachelor’s degree in broadcast communications from Asbury University. He refined it when he received his master’s degree at the University of Tennessee where he studied literary journalism. He still bleeds orange.
